Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Brook Stephenson graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1997 with a BA in Early Childhood Education feeding his passion for art and culture crafting a lifestyle of criticism,visual art, architecture, design, education, and travel.  Having published over 200 articles in entertainment and business he continues to infuse various techniques and subjects illustrating a contemporary African-American perspective of global and domestic life, times, and trends.

Both an educator and cultural critic Brook Stephenson has edited, shot photography, or written for Rolling Out urbanstyle weekly, NV Magazine, Vibe, Smooth, King, XXL, Scratch, Black Issues Book Review, Uptown, Uptownlive.net, The Source, Nat Creole.com, The industry cosign.com, and others.
